APARTHEID REACHES OCHO RIOS

 

Now we can see wounds of racism in Ocho Rios, similar to that mentioned against the Businesses in  St .Ann, similar to that displayed in Montego Bay against the Chinese  in Montego a few weeks ago. But I wonder that lawyer Gordon was unaware of the entire island basically having just one main Street from east-west, and north-south.

The point being, except for Kingston and St. Andrew, Mandeville, and others, all streets and structures remain. Yet we are unhappy with the social milieu in our country; poverty and strife among our neighbors, second class living areas amidst the affluent homes, expensive properties and massive hotel rooms. What is the difference? Linton Gordon through his professional links should know the entire spectrum.

Then we have to find the answers to alleviate and compensate this im- balance; A situation that will need much management; as is needed through all social strata of this country. Law and Order, peace and justice; rules and regulations. Indeed, the cross-section of this society.

But the fact of the matter, is that a grave DISPARITY will still exist within the poverty and wealth, which may continue to disturb the social order. This fragmented cover will from time to time impede the courage and consistency of the fabric’s structure, causing much grief.  This will affect growth, GDP, and more prominent, the financial strength ; The question therefore becomes what do we repair first, and when do we start?

We now have to consider how   to gather the data from history, and from experience In

depth The lessons of the past are slowly learnt, and difficult to retain. The experiences of the past are RARELY given to another but kept under lock and key.
